I Purpose of this practicum was to improve my teaching skill, improve englishs skill and confidence, learned about how to prepare the material before teaching, be more disciplined, and explore the different culture.
6.2     Procedures of Practicum 2
This was my first time to teach. So I followed the procedure of practicum in this school. At first it a bit difficult for me but after that I started to get used to and tried to keep improving.

6.3     Outcomes of Practicum 2
The outcomes are I got the new experience in teaching in the real class, know how to prepare the lesson plan before teaching, more discipline, know about the school system in this country and make new friend with the other observer and practicumer in this school.

6.4     Suggestions For Future Improvement
I am really appreciated what SLU gave to us here. It is more than enough for me

TEACHING PRACTICE

5.1     Procedures of Teaching
          1st week (Jan 24 – 25) Observe the class
          2nd (Jan 29 – Feb 2) Team teaching
          3rd and 4th week (Feb 5-9, 12-15) Actual teaching

First step, I had to prepare lesson plan and the tools I had to use and the worksheet. I always consulted with my teacher about my planning for teaching. Before I made the lesson plan, the teacher also shows me how to explain the topic that I will teach in the class. The material teaching was depend on my teacher. The teacher always tells me what the teaching material a week before I teach.
After that, I tought in the class. What I did in the class:
a.    Open the class with praying and checking attendance.
b.    Check the assignment together
c.    Review the last lesson
d.   Explain the new lesson or continue the last lesson with give the student some example.
e.    Let the student try to solve some problem and discus the answer together
f.     Summarize the lesson
g.    Give the student assignment and information about next meeting

5.2     Time Management and Organizing Activities
a.    Open the class with praying and checking attendance (5 minutes)
b.    Check the assignment together (10 minutes)
c.    Review the last lesson (10 minutes)
d.   Explain the new lesson or continue the last lesson with give the student some example (15 minutes)
e.    Let the student try to solve some problem and discus the answer together (10 minutes)
f.     Summarize the lesson (5 minutes)
g.    Give the student assignment and information about next meeting (5 minutes)

5.3     Problem-Solving
Problem
a)             In grade 7, I see many students still childish. Sometimes they can’t be silent during the lessons. Probably because they are still adapting to the school environment, from elementary school to junior high school.
b)             Since I teach in grade 7, I felt like student was a bit difficult to understand the basic of mathematic. It made them difficult to solve the problem in mathematical expression.
c)             I found some student did their assignment in the class while we check the answer. They didn’t understand why the teacher give them the assignment, that’s one of the reason the student didn’t do the assignment, even the teacher already write the note in the white board.
Solving
a)             Students should be aware that they are in high school. They can be told in a subtle but firm way. It depends on the condition of the students. Advising loudly continuously is also less effective. It can make the students do not give respect to the teacher because they feel it is usually done by the teacher.
b)             I made a fast review for them like gave them some simple example and make sure that they understand with that.
c)             I have to make sure that no one did the assignment in the class before we stars to check the answer together. I told them that be honest is more important and don’t do that again in next assignment.

OBSERVATION ON TEACHER

4.1     Planning For Teaching
I didn’t see the teacher make the lesson plan before she teaching, but she made list of topic that will she teaching in the class for every meeting in one month.
1st week (Jan 24 – Feb 2): Evaluating mathematical expression
2nd week (Feb 5-9): Evaluating mathematical expression
3rd week (Feb 12-15): Evaluation about evaluating mathematical expression and term and coefficient.
4.2     Preparing Lessons and Materials
Because the topic didn’t need any material, teacher only prepared the stationary that she needs to write in the board.
4.3     Teaching In class
My teacher always started the class with prayer and check the attendance. She are very discipline and firmly against students. She also makes sure the class was clear and no more litter in the floor before she starts with the lesson. She opened the class with reviews the previous topic or checking the assignment together. Before the new lesson, the teacher always writes the date and the tittle of new lesson in the board. After that, the teacher gave the student the new topic, give some example to solve some problem, and let the student try to solve the other problem in the book. In the end of the class, the teacher usually gives the student the assignment.
4.4     Measurement and Evaluation
To increase students participation, the teacher use follow classwork, assessment and homework. Every meeting that method always used by the teacher.

PEDAGOGICAL CONTENTS & TEACHING PLAN

2.1    Teaching Methods

As long as I observed, teacher usually start the class with checking the assignment together. The student will change their book with their chair mate and give score in the 1-8 pas paper. After that they pass 1-8 pad paper to the teacher.
When teacher explant the new lesson, teacher will give some example or just solve some problem in the text book and then student try to solve the other problem.
2.2    Using Materials and Innovation
In math class while I am observed, they didn’t use any material except their text book and note book. But in the other subject, teacher can use projector.
2.3    Sources Of Learning and Technology
All the material has arranged in student module. All the activities in the class depended by that module.
2.4    Authentic Assessment
I couldn’t report the authentic assesment because I didn’t get it.

My teacher in SLU Laboratory High didn’t give me the detailed standard evaluation, but in every assignment, they used different scale depend on how much problem in the assignment, and then it accumulated with another test score to got the final score.
1.6     Curiculum
SLU Laboratory High School used K to 12 Curriculum.
1.7     Teaching Plan (Of My Major)
In SLU Laboratory High school, teaching plan was only 2 pages (for semi detailed teaching plan). It was consisted of 5 columns, the first column was the objectives of the lesson, second column was the contents like subject matter, materials, reference, concept, value, and skill. The third column was the procedure of the lesson. The fourth column was evaluation and the last was assignment.
